Gateway Security Service maintains a security force available to respond to an emergency need for security service.   This could be a facility that  encounters an alarm outage, insecure  door, fire, flood, etc.  Gateway Security can generally respond in less  than one hour to any security need. 

Many organizations encounter a  requirement for temporary security services.  Whether it be a special  event, equipment stored in a vulnerable area, fence repairs, etc.,  Gateway Security Service maintains a security force to respond to the  need for temporary security services.

When confronted with labor disputes, organizations often require the implementation of additional security measures.  Gateway Security  Service possesses decades of experience in providing security planning and assignment of security officers to organizations encountering labor  disputes.  Gateway Security Service's officers routinely provide perimeter security and monitor ingress/egress at facilities encountering  labor problems.  The use of an outside security force minimizes the  contact between an organization's striking and non-striking employees.

Christopher Smith, President

Chris has been involved in facility services for over 30 years throughout the Midwest with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of physical security (access devices, alarms, CCTV, etc.), personal protection techniques (metal detectors, identification techniques, etc.) and investigation procedures. Chris has been instrumental in growing Gateway into a respected regional provider with sights on enhancing services offered with the addition of Gateway Facility Management.

Terrence Stoehner, Vice President

Terry has been involved private security for over 50 years. His career began in technology and law enforcement in the early 1970’s and he continues to utilize his experience and skills today. He has created and sold several facility support companies including security and janitorial. Terry partnered with Chris Smith in 2009 to form the current venture, Gateway Security Service LLC. His experience with janitorial services in the past led them to including Gateway Facility Management division in 2022. 

History

Gateway Security Service, LLC is a descendant of Stoehner Security Service, one of the oldest and most respected names in the security industry, started in the St. Louis metropolitan area then growing to serve clients across the Midwest.  Owner Terrence Stoehner, former Chief of Police, and Christopher Smith, a senior member of Stoehner Security's management team, formed Gateway Security Service, a locally-owned and managed provider of security services.  Gateway Security Service's leadership possesses in excess of eighty years of  combined experience in providing security services to both private and public organizations within the St. Louis metropolitan area and surrounding regions.  Security services provided include armed/unarmed security officers, patrol and  alarm response services, emergency response services, and labor dispute services.
